Send reports securely from specialist and mental health practices
Medicolegal reports, assessments and clinical letters to insurers, solicitors, courts and referrers who aren't on secure messaging, protected with AES-256, with the password given a different way and a record for the file.

Reports that leave your rooms
- Medicolegal and independent medical examination reports for insurers and solicitors.
- Reports for workers compensation, motor accident and income protection claims.
- Court reports, and records produced under a subpoena or court order.
- Letters to GPs, hospitals and referrers who can't receive secure messaging.
- A client's request for a copy of their own records.
An email sent to the wrong address can't be taken back. With SendRight, the attachment stays locked without the password.
Built around the rules for health information
- APP 11: reasonable security, with AES-256 encryption and the password sent by a different route.
- APP 6: the reason for each release is chosen and recorded, such as a signed authority or a subpoena.
- Psychologists: since 1 December 2025, the Psychology Board's Code of conduct requires written, informed consent before transmitting a client's information. Record it with the release.
- Third-party releases are checked and approved before they go.
Why specialist practices use SendRight
A strong password, not a date of birth
Many practice systems lock PDFs with the client's birth date, which an insurer or employer may already know. SendRight makes a new passphrase for every send.
Password by another route
An expiring link by separate email (the default for insurers, firms and other organisations), a phone call or in person. Text messages are coming soon.
A record for the client's file
Who it went to, why it could be released, how it was protected and how the password was given.
Long reports and scans
Reports and scanned records go in one email when they fit both email systems, with no loss of quality. Coming soon: bigger ones go by secure link.
Works with any practice software
Export the report or letter as usual, then send it with SendRight. Nothing to connect.
Windows today, Mac coming
SendRight runs on Windows 10 and 11. A Mac version is in development.
Questions from specialist practices
Can we email a psychiatric or psychology report?
The Privacy Act doesn't ban email, but health information needs reasonable protection (APP 11), and a disclosure needs a lawful reason, such as the client's consent (APP 6). Psychologists also need written, informed consent before transmitting a client's information under the Psychology Board's Code of conduct. A password-protected file, sent to a checked address with the password given another way, is the step privacy and medical defence guidance describes.
An insurer or solicitor wants the report without a password. What do we say?
Health information still needs reasonable protection, whoever asks for it. Our email templates for record requests give you a polite reply that explains why, and how the recipient gets the password.
Does SendRight connect to our practice software?
No. It works with the PDFs and letters you export from any practice software, and never changes the client's record.
We write independent medical examination reports. Is that covered?
Yes. SendRight suits reports that go to many different insurers and law firms. See insurance, claims and investigations for how that work fits.
